How to use linkedin effectively

I have always been an advocate for using social media platforms to promote businesses, but so far LinkedIn has proven to be the best for this particular purpose.

Not only is it an invaluable tool for building professional contacts, it is a great way to attract attention to the company and enable it to hire top notch employees from the wide array of qualified personnel who are advertising their capabilities on personal linkedin profiles.

It is imperative for a smart business owner however, to know how to effectively use LinkedIn to grow their business. It is not just about creating a company profile and waiting for the miracle to happen.

You need to go out of your way to establish contacts with others in the same field of expertise as you. You can either do this by requesting them from a mutual contact or by sending an email introducing yourself.

You also need to make your profile active by updating it every now and then. There is nothing that I find to be more boring than a profile that has not been updated in weeks.

It pushes potential customers away because they feel like the profile was just created for visibility rather than interactive purposes.

Go the extra mile to make your profile captivating and professional to anyone who may be interested in interacting with you.

So What Are The Advantages of Using LinkedIn to Grow Your Business?

Exposure

If used effectively, linkedin exposes your business to more than 120 million users.

Among these people you will be able to isolate the demographic that you need to reach, thus effectively establishing your company's chances of survival.

I find the dynamics with which LinkedIn works to be like a marketplace where everyone is trying to sell their agenda by capturing the attention of the right people, and only the best ones win. A company profile on linkedin is also a great way to ensure that you are able to appear on search engines.

Maximize on the space to inform and educate your profile visitors about your products, discounts or any other interesting information.

Networking and Maintaining Relationships

I can tell you for free that networking is the best way for a business to stay afloat. You cannot survive by being an island.

You need to pool ideas and abilities to achieve a common goal. LinkedIn enables you to reach other experts and to maintain a relationship with them for mutual benefits.

Establishing Credibility

Prospective employees and customers are also looking for a business that looks like it is literally on top of things.

A LinkedIn profile enables a company to display its credentials and to also show previous recommendations from other customers.

Request that your contacts leave reviews every time you interact, it would surprise you how every other person will want to work with you based on the positive feedback you are getting. Basically, the more you have the more you get!

In this era, a strong online presence is a key ingredient when it comes to establishing a successful business.

Using LinkedIn in a proper manner is a great way to ensure that nothing is left to chance. With time, the contacts keep increasing and the company's profile evolves with the emerging needs of the targeted audience.

It takes some time to catch on but eventually the business is guaranteed to grow, effectively maximizing on profits.

Pro tip: If as a business owner you cannot build a compelling LinkedIn profile, hiring the services of an expert will yield better results.
